About the event
Women often say yes when we really mean NO MORE. But we've received such strong messaging that we must be nice, pleasing and helpful. As a result, saying no feels really hard. We say yes instead, and
- Take on other people's priorities as our priorities.
- Become overly apologetic.
- Don't say what needs to be said.
- Feel walked on and unheard.
- Put up with toxic behaviour.
We frequently even override the signals of our own bodies in order to keep doing this, and our bodies respond with feelings of anger, resentment and exhaustion. If this sounds familiar, and you're interested in learning more about whether your boundaries might need work, why boundaries are so difficult to set and maintain, types of boundaries, and how you can communicate them more effectively, join me at Te Whenua Retreat Centre on 3 July. Sonia Voldseth is a mental health counsellor in Tahuna/Queenstown who believes that empowering women changes the world.
