About the event

Insight Dialogue is an inter-personal meditation practise with a fast growing, global community of practitioners. It's genesis was from within the Therevada Buddhist (Insight) tradition, and was born from a wish that meditation - which is often done alone and silently - could be more directly beneficial to our relationships. Humans are social creatures, and being able to communicate with clarity, honesty, compassion and awareness of what is appropriate and helpful, is a life-enhancing skill.

On a personal note, this is the spiritual practise which has propelled my self-awareness / mindfulness practise to new levels AND new enjoyment. On a more day-to-day level, I.D. continues to guide and support me in how to speak from the heart & to listen deeply - skills that all of us can benefit from.

Six guidelines form the core of Insight Dialogue practice—Pause, Relax, Open, Attune to Emergence, Listen Deeply and Speak the Truth. Even for those of us who have been meditating for years, Insight Dialogue brings a whole new dimension - that of relationality - to the fore. The practise allows for a vivid connections, deep understandings of one-another, and an opportunity to learn more about ourselves too.

This series of 8 evening classes will provide an introduction to Insight Dialogue. Each class will begin with a guided silent meditation, then an introduction to the guideline we will be exploring each week. There will ample time for structured practice periods of mindful talking and deep listening in dyads, exploring how the guideline supports us to connect and express. Care will be taken to make this a safe space to talk with others, and no-one is ever expected to share personal stories or details that are not wholly appropriate to the time, setting or practise.

Please RSVP to ask any questions. No experience necessary, all welcome.

INVESTMENT: $25 per session, or $160 for all 8 classes if paid in advance.
