About the event
Great choice! Our one-day cooking retreats give you a wonderful taste of Te Whenua. You will learn to cook a selection of seasonal plant based dishes whilst also getting a taste of meditation, some contemplation, and of course good conversation! The dishes we create during the day will be our delicious shared lunch. This day retreat is sure to be a precious time-out which will be rich in opportunities for learning, taking rest, and joyful connection.
This month we are doing something a little different, and looking at the diets of those regions of the world that have the longest life expectancy alongside the best health expectancy - various areas of the world known as Blue Zones.
There are 4 key localities that have been identified and extensively researched as having the healthiest residents - regions of Sardinia, Greece, Costa Rica and Japan. And guess what? They eat a predominantly whole-food plant-based diet.
During this one-day retreat we will also contemplate other lifestyle habits of blue-zone residents which play a part in them living healthy active lives into their 90's and even 100', whilst co-creating a shared lunch inclusive of as many 'blue zone' elements as we can!
